Greatness stands before us. Well more sleep anyway
After years of punishing the kids we’ve finally bought them humane matresses. The truth will be in the length of sleep.
Traditionally either Amelie or Jarvis has woken up around 02:00-04:00am and wandered around maybe setting up camp in our bed, maybe switching their bedroom light on and playing the harmonica, or uttering the immortal words “i’m hungry” but often going back to sleep. Only to wake up permanently around 06:00am
We’re laying on thick that the mattresses have healing powers.
If we get it right it could be magical:
Been offline for a few nights. No real reason. Winter blues I guess.
Someone stole Jarvis’s bike from outside the swimming pool which was really low. (Dad didnt lock it but is nothing sacred)
Jarvis’s response was “Daddy maybe a man took it to give to his boy because he doesnt have a bike” – top boy.
To try and help we had some croissants!!
We had a great time at Debbie and Phils for Olivers 8th Birthday. Yummy Yummy cake.
First trip to the new Westfield Shopping Centre @ Stratford where Jarvis and I tucked into a box of candy and watched the rip-roaring ‘Puss in Boots’
Back in the fetus days the kids used to be called ‘bubs’ or ‘bubba boobas’ and they’ve had countless names in between but for some reason they are known as ‘Ammo’ and ‘Jarvo’ at the moment.
We also still had a few days with the kids not back after NY and so it was lunch @ PizzaExpress in Farringdon
What a perfect Sunday.
Morning Lie in followed by Pancakes.
We checked out the Hackney BMX scene at Hackney City Farm – looks totally awesome. Think Jarvis needs a few more months getting his core skills up on his current small bike before he hits some of those mean hills.
Amelie started the next level-up Circus skills with Iris’s older sister Izzie.
Then we all went off to Ombra (new Venetian pop-up style eaterie on Mare St) with our friends and neighbours Damian, Neela and Lottie & Orson. Food was really yummy – with words we didnt understand and places for the kids to be feral. Perfect
Last note to wish Cousin Daniel a brilliant birthday.
Great Saturday at the kids clubs.
Amelie went to Thames music school and then on to lunch at Grace & Honeys.
Whilst Jarvis went swimming at York Hall followed by football with friends in London Fields.
This morning it was another 5:30am start with the battle cry of breakfast..I’m Hungry
So after 5 rounds of pancakes (well its still no school) it was innovative Playdoh time
Today Amelie spent the day at the Acquarium with best friend Irie (Iris) and Jarvis spent the day wrecking Edwards house. Both had a whale of a time and totally crashed early this evening
In the last few months we have been lucky enough to spend time with various members of the extended family.
At Gemma’s wedding we saw Peter King and he kindly sent us some photos from Nanny Carol’s family the ‘Barkers’ including some amazing pictures of the family ‘Arthey’ whose family tree you can see below.
So for Amelie to work this out the first sheet of the Arthey’s tree. ( Sarah May Arthey was your Great Grandmother who you did meet a few times and who you always made smile) you have a ( G/MOTHER-G/G/MOTHER- G/G/G/MOTHER– & a G/G/G/G/MOTHER.) on the Arthey’s side of your family.

When its so rare its worth making a note of it A bit different from Amelie only two days old sleeping
After seven years in the internet wilderness EllisBone tonight is reborn.
EllisBone will become a honey pot for all things Ellis and Bone but mostly it will help document two human beings – Amelie (7) and Jarvis (4)
Today has been a day of reflection as Gaby and I attended the funeral of Amelie and Jarvis’s Great Grandmother Vera Ellis who was cremated at Eltham Crematorium.
